Art Portfolio: Final bridge design idea

Today, I created my final bridge design. Even though I already had a good design, I decided to keep going and try something new. To represent my idea Earthly Delight and Flow of the Time, I asked my cohorts what design they see when they hear these words. One of them told me about a square wave that will look like a tonel. The idea of a glass tunnel sounds very impressive to me. I wanted to try to sketch it, and I liked it, so I started thinking about it in more detail, how it would look exactly. The problem was how to cleverly use a space so it wouldn't look empty, and I end up with idea to place the sidewalk on the second layed on the side. My first sketch is possible to see below.

After a sketch, I knew that it was my final idea that I wanted to do exactly this design. So, next, I started to think about size moments: how wide the road must be, how tall it should be, how to connect it, and how to make it safe and comfortable to use. In the image below, you can see another sketch with details and dimensions.

I love this design because it looks as light as a feather. The clarity looks natural and beautiful, and it looks very good combined with mountains and a nice view of the location.

  1. It is now coming into week 9 and these seem like initial sketches - you should be finalising work at this point
