Art Portfolio: 3D Model and photos boards
Today, I started to create my 3D model. For it I will use a moult board, transparent plastic, foam board, wire and carboard. The dimensions of the construction will be 1:100.
At the start, I cut all the pieces from the mould board as follows:
-Piers
-Decking
-The foundation on which the structure will stand
Next, I went to the plastic workshop, for which we had an induction this term as a part of the module. This ability helped save a lot of time. There, I cut transparent plastic parts. However, I did a wrong conculation and it wasn't enough pieces so when I went there again teacher recommended to went to laizer cut workshop. I also had endaction to this place and using lazer cutting I did other work and this was even faster also the edges of parts was more smooth this in future helped to glue parts toghether easier. Furthermore, I painted the parts to imitate a glass art that I decided to add to my design. Next, I glued a glass tunnel. It was an exciting process, and I personally love creating this kind of construction; however, the annoying factor was the superglue, and all my fingers were sticky. Overall, everything worked perfectly; there were no dimension problems or non-stick angles because everything was cut by machine and had perfect dimensions.
Furthermore, I glued everything together using some of my friends because the construction was more than 150cm and heavy. The only problem was that I cut piers by hand, and they weren't perfectly the same size because some of them were 1mm longer or shorter, so I had to cut them in the air while the glue did not get hard. It was a stressful moment.
In the end, I just added humans inside the bridge to show the approximate scale for viewers. Next, wire cables on the top create stability and support for both glass parts and stairs on one of the sides. In the photo below, it is possible to see pictures that I made of my 3D model
I am happy with the final outcome; the model looks impressive and realistic, and it fully shows the main parts of the bridge and its design. Some parts were sometimes challenging to create as piers; however, I'm sure this kind of practice will help me in my future studies. Also, I learned how to work with new materials(transparent plastics, foam board) and techniques (laser cut). I love how the final photo looks like I did a lot of light experiments and different angles. The best photo possible to see below.
Next, I created a board with this photo. Added my logo and the Title and left a year and my name as a work signature.
