 Welcome to my blog. My name is Veronika Potes. I love to steal people's lives and represent them from the art side. I'm a DMUIC student who will be an architect, an astronaut or a happy person in the future, depending on my mood.

Eduard Kichigin - Colosseo

Eduard Kichigin is a significant artist because his works made me realise that I want to be an architect. I accidentally came across his work and immediately fell in love with his style. I had never thought that architectural drawings could look like pieces of art. To me, his drawings resemble an explosion. The stains made from coffee or ink make the drawing somewhat messy, yet everything seems to be perfectly in place. My first architectural drawing was created under his guidance, and I remember being shocked that I could produce something like that.

                                          Mykola Mazur - Space (1986-1987)

Mykola Mazur is a renowned Ukrainian artist. I grew up near a park where his metal sculptures were displayed, and as a kid, I loved playing there. His work helped me believe in miracles, both then and now. I also admire his drawings and sculptures because they have a soul and a unique style. I met him once as a child, as he was also, my uncle’s teacher. I remember crying hard when he told me he made the sculpture—I had always thought it was a real astronaut and rocket. My childhood dream was shattered at that moment, but now I can say that they were real to me, both then and now, because they hold a soul in my heart.

                                               Rachel Ducker - Wire Dancer

Rachel Ducker evoked an indescribable feeling in me when I first saw her work. I definitely liked it, but there was also something wild and unfamiliar that I had never seen before. That’s when I decided I wanted to create something like that. It marked the beginning of our long relationship, where she became my muse for a considerable time. Much of my work bears her influence. A thin body with smooth lines and a disproportionate form is what Rachel Ducker represents to me.
