Art Portfolio Two: Portfolio inspiration/ Cover and Cite plan boards

Today, I am starting my architecture boards/portfolio. In the previous term, I made a couple of mistakes presenting my work and lost a mark because of this. This time, I want to improve this part of my final outcome. At the moment, any of my 3d and 2d outcomes are ready; however, for some practice, I will start to do a Material, Location and demographics boards, Furthermore, I would choose a colour palette and style for my portfolio. The first example that I looked at was Shivani Patel's portfolio(possible to see by following the link), she is doing interior design and architectural design. But what interests me is that she did her portfolio as a flip book for me. This idea seems really interesting as I want to do my cover page in black and sky blue colours. But I want to place my software sketch at the bottom, and do it in a blue colour, and the name of the project on the top. So, because my building has a kind of square form, it will be more comfortable in portrait format. However, my portfolio boards must be landscape. The approximate sketch with element placements is possible to see below.

But for my boards, I like the design method that used Taili Zhuang (to see the portfolio, follow the link). I like the way he combines colour palettes. Furthermore, the way he placed the sketches and demographics with his 3D models looks harmonious. But if he uses black and white colours, mine will be sky blue. Furthermore, I want to change my demographic drawing a little bit.

Today I nearly finished my 3D software model and will do my prototype cover page. I did 2 versions with different 3D style types in portrait. I do like the onsept of it. However it seems a little bit empty, I will try to change a background colour Furthermore, this prototypes I created in a Photoshop (see Fig1,2,3)

It seemd like too much space is left so I decided to make a canvas smaller and it was a good desision because now the portfolio cover look finally combined and I probably even will ;eave it as a final board because I like how colors combined and futhermore I changed a text style(see Fig4) Futhermore I did one more example but whiout a botom and upper lines(see Fig 5) and I'm not sure which one I like more. But for flipbook I prefer Fig 5 and for boards I would shooce a Fig 4.

However, after I looked at more portfolios, I saw that most of them were done in landscape and A3 sheets, so I changed my design to these parameters (see Fig 6).

Furthermore, I started my site plan boards by downloading a map using the Digimap website provided by my University. It downloaded a good-quality map image with a dimension scale (see Fig 7). Next, I changed the colours in Photoshop and placed them in the timeplate that I had prepared. The final board look good, the colours are fit and I love the blue themes that match the waterfall idea and glass idea because glass and transparency are usually associated with blue colours (see Fif 8)

  2. You have made a strong start with laying out your folio, the font and background work well, although as we discussed in session, I think you should create
landscape boards - it suits the conventions of your subject area better.
