Art Portfolio Two: Software outcome
Today, I finished my 3D software design of the building. This was an interesting experience because I learned a lot of new skills in ArchiCAD. Although I had experience using this software, this project design was much more complicated. Furthermore, I did an environment for a nice photo rendering, and it was also complicated.
I started from a small practice, as my building must have a curly, wavy wall, I tried to learn how to create them, and I experimented with the shell tool (see Fig1). But next, I watched some learning YouTube videos and used the Shell tool, but with different settings (Ruled + Detailed). This tool helped me to create a more suitable form of walls after a couple of tries (see Fig2,3).

The next step was to create floors after I did a low-quality render to see what the building looks like(see Fig), also adding lifts with stairs (see Fig4).

Next, I started to create a staff room, delivery entrances, a toilet and a staff kitchen as was required in my brief. Moreover, I placed an entrance door. I decided to do it circular because it fits a rounded corner by form and materials are aluminium and glass(see Fig5,6).

At this moment, I understood that I do not like the shape of the building and started everything from the start(see Fig7). Furthermore, I made a marble first floor and a white glossy other 2. After I changed the shape of the building, it was easier to place the rooms(see Fig8,9).

Furthermore, I added a small interior for a room so I could make a good floor plan(see Fig10,11). Also, I decided to add some cloth handles(see Fig12), but I do not like how it looks. I think the building design, structure get lost in all these colours. Also, ArchiCAD do not have good quality furniture for the store because this software is more for an environment and structure view and photo rendering, so I deleted the cloth handles and added fitting rooms.

Next, I did a shadow night overview to see where it is better to place lights (see Fig13-15) and did a side cut to see how the building interior looks from inside (see Fig16,17).

Next, I added a water tank, support columns and started to experiment with 3D settings and photo rendering settings(see Fig17,18).

And after I added a second wall layer and did a pool for water (see Fig19)

After I was happy with how the building design looked like I started to do an environment (see Fig20) using a picture that I did when I went to do primary research (possible to see photo in this post "Art Portfolio Two: Primary research and demographics/site plan").

After I finished with environment, I started to do a final render of pictures. This was tricky because one picture required 2-3 hours to load in good-high quality. But the final outcome is possible to see below.
